PROactive Media makes search engine submissions for our client's web sites as well as the mini sites we develop. Although only Google, Yahoo, Open Directory Project, MSN, AOL and a few other search engines matter, since they handle 95% of all search engine searches on the Internet, we submit our client web sites to the top 30 search engines and directories.
Search Engine Submission
Web sites become listed on search engines when someone registers the web site URL and information about the web site on a form provided by the search engines. This is called search engine submission. After a person registers a web site on a search engine, the search engine typically sends a "spider" or program to go through your web site to catalog and index the contents, so it can make an accurate listing. The program also determines the relevancy of the content on the web pages in relation to kep words or phrases that a user may type in to search. Search engines typically take anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months to include a submission into its database.
